Upgrading EDSA 2016 : The New Chapter of EDSA

On March 5, The Budi Inn 2 Hall, Parangtritis Beach, had witnessed the beginning of the new chapter of EDSA. Led by Okta Deriyanto, the board of EDSA 2016 had declared their commitment. The declaration was a crucial moment of Upgrading EDSA 2016.

Upgrading EDSA 2016 was managed by Majelis Pertimbangan Organisasi EDSA (MPO EDSA). Started on March 4, there were many activities in this event; organizational discussions, barbeque night, games time, group performances, etc. All were intended to bring the members of board of EDSA 2016 closer and prepare them for their journey with EDSA. Baihaqi Adi Utama, a member of MPO EDSA who’s also the former head of EDSA, said that after the event, the board members were expected to feel more comfortable in EDSA and could be aware of their responsibility in the organization.

Discussion Session

On the discussion session about EDSA, the committee invited Almas Rifqi Darmawan, the head of EDSA 2014 as the guest speaker. On the occasion, he spoke about how innovations are important for EDSA. EDSA should be able to make new programs that are different from the previous programs. In response, Okta Deriyanto, the head of EDSA 2016 said, “ Yes, indeed EDSA need some innovations. We are planning on asking the students of English Department to fill in some kind of questionnaire. Their aspirations will be our guideline in making programs plan. Since the programs plan comes from the students of English Department's aspirations, we hope the next programs will fulfil the needs of the department.”

Now, EDSA has been upgraded officially and will begin its new chapter! (ry)
