Review of EDSA 2013 Oprec
“EDSA, English Department Student Association,
successfully held an open recruitment from February 11 up to 13, 2013. There
are 50 applicants who had submitted the form and done the interview sessions. At first, the interview sessions were planned to be held only two days. Yet, due to the
heavy rain on Tuesday (12/2), some applicants informed that they could not come
at that day and asked to join the interview on Wednesday.” Fajar, the chief of
EDSA, stated. He also stated that the applicants this year were beyond
expectation. Accordingly the great quality applicants, the committee had to
select the applicants very carefully.
This event, which was held in the second floor of the
PKM Hall, aims to seek the next generation of EDSA. The selection sessions are
divided into two ways. The first is to fill in the registration form that can
be downloaded on the blog of EDSA. The second one is interview. This year’s
interview session is different from the previous years. In the previous ones,
the applicants were interviewed only by the chief of department from the
division which the applicants want to join. This year’s interview session, the
applicants were interviewed not only by one person but also by panel
interviewers who comes from several divisions. This is aimed to collect
different perspective of scoring so that the other divisions are also able to
see the capability of the applicants. The applicants were free to choose two
divisions. This new interview system also helps the divisions to have more
consideration on selecting them. The announcement of the new board of EDSA will
be published in the blog of EDSA on Friday, February 15, 2013.
